Quick Apply Full-time 5 hours ago Full Job Description Seydel Group is an expanding Montgomery County PA home renovation company specializing in high end home renovations, new builds, additions, kitchens, and baths.
We are looking for a motivated and detail oriented individual to fill an estimating position in our company.
You will be working alongside our Head of Estimating- performing blueprint takeoffs, making site visits to on-going and potential projects, writing project specifications, coordinating with sub-contractors and procuring bids, collecting and analyzing job data, calculating costs, and developing systems to optimize the budgeting and estimating process as a whole.
The goal is to provide the head of estimating, and ultimately the company, with accurate information that will assist in pricing, operations, strategic planning, and production.

Responsibilities:
Learn and stay up to date with Co-Construct building software Read blueprints and perform takeoffs Review project documents and consult sales team to collect all necessary data Analyze and/or write project specifications to produce price forecasts Ensure all pertinent info, bids, and files are properly allocated to assigned jobs Select advantageous deals by procuring and comparing quotes from multiple bidders Visit sites and suppliers as needed to gather essential information Be in tune with varying costs and trends across multiple projects and the industry as a whole Skills:
Basic understanding of accounting, construction, and/or project management concepts Proficient understanding of how to read blueprints and site plans to understand specifications and perform takeoffs Familiarity with the technical and mechanical aspects of residential construction Very comfortable with numbers and technology (Mac Computer- Co-construct/Buildertrend software, Excel, etc.
) Attention to detail Excellent communication abilities Well-organized and reliable Applicant must be self motivated and a team player.

Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in the construction industry and some background in either finance/accounting, construction, or estimating is required.
NOTE:
A brief test will be given as part of the interviewing process to evaluate blueprint reading skills as well as conceptual knowledge following initial phone interview.
Education:
BS/BA in engineering, finance, construction management/science or other relevant field is always a plus, but is not required.
Real world experience is much more important to us.
Working Conditions:
95% of time is spent working in an office setting.
Hours will be standard at first for training and orientation (8-4 or 9-5) with some options for flexibility opening up in the future.
Occasional site visits with salesmen/clients may be necessary.
