Summary:
Our company is hiring Clinical respiratory therapist to add to our ever-expanding company.
Duties will include setting up and operating devices such as therapeutic gas administration apparatus and mechanical ventilators, providing emergency care, such as external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, and or maintaining charts that contain patient identification and therapy information.
Respiratory Therapist
Responsibilities:
o Monitoring patient physiological responses to therapy such as arterial blood gases, vital signs or blood chemistry, and lung function changes, and consulting with physicians if there are adverse reactions.
o Working as part of a team of health care professionals to manage patient care by assisting with medical procedures.
o Setting up and operating devices including therapeutic gas administration apparatus, mechanical ventilators, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
o Following specified parameters of treatment.
o Providing emergency care, such as external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
o Inspecting, testing, cleaning, and maintaining respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
o Maintaining charts that contain patient identification and therapy information.
o Measuring arterial blood gases, reading prescriptions, lung capacity, and reviewing other information to assess patient condition.
o Relaying blood analysis results to a physician.
o Making emergency visits to resolve equipment problems when necessary.
o Ordering equipment repairs when necessary.
o Explaining health care treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation.
o Checking pulmonary function in patients.
Respiratory Therapist Requirements:
o Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program or technical college course for respiratory therapy.
o Current RCP license in the state of practice.
o Respiratory care, emergency care, and intensive care experience.
o Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
o Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation.
o Experience with respiratory equipmentPhysical and Emotional Demands:
Good physical and emotional health.
As the Respiratory Therapist may be required to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift and move patients, and work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home healthcare.
Exposure Risks:
Normal work routine could involve exposure to blood and body fluids.
Responsible for following OSHA guideline standard and the use of universal precautions.
Working Conditions:
Hours indicated by the residents and community's needs.
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
Recommended Skills Administration Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls) Arterial Blood Gases Basic Life Support Cpr Clinical Works Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
